Folding sofa bed

Folding sofa beds can be traced back to Europe in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The Industrial Revolution promoted the densification of urban population, and small-sized houses gave rise to the need to save space. In the 1920s, American inventor William Murphy applied for a patent for the "Murphy bed" (wall bed). Although it was not a sofa bed in the strict sense, its folding mechanism inspired subsequent designs. In the 1930s, European modernist designer Le Corbusier tried to combine sofas with beds, emphasizing functionalism. From then on, the era of sofa beds in the true sense began.

Usually, we divide folding sofa beds into one-fold sofa beds, two-fold sofa beds, and three-fold sofa beds. One-fold sofa beds are also called Italian flip sofa beds, which are equipped with thick sponge mattresses separately and are extremely comfortable. When we want to turn the sofa into a bed, we only need to gently pull the backrest forward and turn it flat on the ground to become a bed.
